Select hard disk drive (HDD) for secure deletion of data.
For disposing of data on the hard drive, it is necessary to activate the mouse menu "START". The program polls the physical drives and determines their geometry.
In this case the screen displays information about disks, information on which can be destroyed, for each disk is displayed:
- Physical address in the format HDx, where x is the physical address from 0 to 7. the Program scans the first eight physical disks.
- Full capacity of the drive in bytes.
- the Serial number of the hard disk.
- firmware management.
- Model hard disk.
The program scans the boot sector and partition table, determines where a particular logical drive. For each
logical disk is displayed:
- Alphabetic the identifier of the logical drive.
- the file system Type.
- logical drive Size in bytes.
- the number of the first sector of the logical disk on the physical disk (LBA-address of the boot sector BOOT).

In the input field "Number of physical disk (Winchester)" the user must enter the number of the hard disk on which you need to destroy information
without the possibility of recovery of deleted files and data.

offers to continue the process of disk cleanup from the last checkpoint, Fig 7a:

Information about the last checkpoint pereodicheski is written to the file FomsoftEraserHDD.ini. This allows you to temporarily stop the process
disk cleanup and resume in a user-friendly time. Given that zero out the hard drive is searched by serial number,
at the next launch, he may have a different physical address of the disk device.
To clear data from only those physical disks, which is not an operating system, or running the program Fomsoft HDD Eraser.
Therefore, if the user specifies the physical number of these drives, the program displays the appropriate message (Fig. 8 and 9).

If formal control rooms erasable disk has passed, the program calculates the LBA address of the last erase sector and displays
information about the beginning and end of erasable area of the hard disk. If desired, the user can change these settings.
However, he needs to understand that the program will clear the data only from a given area, and the remaining information will not be cleared.
After clicking the dialog button "CLEAR", the program will ask for confirmation to start disk cleanup, Fig. 10.
