General description.
Features startup for execution.
Functionality, main menu.
Menu «Cleaning»:
Reliable deletion, zeroing, all over the hard drive. Clear all data on the hard disk.
Reliable destruction of old data on a leaked disk. Clean the logical drive.

Cleaning - reliable removal of data without the possibility of further recovery.

This function of the Fomsoft Data Recovery program is intended for end users who do not own special knowledge in the field of data recovery. It provides guaranteed destruction of deleted information without the possibility its further restoration. Destruction is performed by successively writing hexadecimal zeros from the sector, subject to cleaning. Talk about the possibility of recovering data after such an operation, should be attributed to the category of legends, conjectures and frank speculation of manufacturers of equipment for destroying information on hard disks.

Currently, no laboratory in the world does not have a real life technologies
capable of recovering data even after they have been rewritten once!

In Fig. 48 is a functional menu that allows data to be cleared without the possibility of further recovery.

This functional menu has two sub-menus that allow two types of cleaning of the file system of the selected disk:
  1. Zeroing (clearing) of all sectors of the physical disk.
  2. Zeroing of unoccupied sectors of the logical disk, erased previously recorded data in them.

Reliable cleaning, zeroing, the entire surface of the physical disk.

Running this menu item "Cleaning", allows you to destroy all the information recorded on it on the selected media. In this case, it is impossible to restore previously recorded data by any real means. In Fig. 49 A dialog box appears when this item is activated.

Uninstallation without the possibility of further recovery, the Cleanup menu.

To clean a particular disk, you must enter its serial number. Initially, the program is configured to reset all sectoral space, but an experienced user can change the start and end addresses of the desired site. After pressing the "CLEAR" button, the program will ask you to confirm the request to zero the specified area of the disk, Fig. 50.

In case of confirmation, the process of resetting the user-defined range of sectors begins. Progress zeroing is displayed on the display screen, Fig. 51.

Considering that the process of cleaning large hard disks lasts for a relatively long time, the program from time to time creates a file of the checkpoint FomsoftDataRecoveyErayser.ini , containing the serial number of the disk being cleaned and the last one the sector address of the cleared area. Information from this file is requested by the program at the start of the cleaning process, finds the hard disk by its serial number, since the position of the disk could change, and suggests that you continue cleaning the disk from the stored sector number.
The process of zeroing the physical disk can be stopped if necessary, and a warning is displayed on the screen, that this process of disk cleaning is not completed to the end, Fig. 52.

Premature stop of data destruction process.

After the whole disk is cleared, the program deletes the checkpoint file

Reliable destruction of previously deleted data on the logical disk.

This feature allows you to exclude the ability to restore previously deleted data. In Fig. 53 shows the window that appears when you call this function.

Durable cleaning of the logical drive from old data.

Warning: Before performing this operation, you must clear the trash , as the file in the recycle bin, the operating system only renames, not deletes.

In the case of the FAT16 or FAT32 file system, filling the entire free area of the logical disk with hexadecimal zeros. Clearing the NFTS file system begins with the process of zeroing the MFT table entries, the program sequentially reads all the entries FILE Record, and if this entry is related to deleted data, it is reset to zero. Thus, the names of deleted files are deleted, information about the location of the file on the disk, for non-resident data, or the contents of the resident files that are inside the FILE Record. After the cleaning process of the MFT table, the program suggests cleaning the free sector space, Fig. 54.

Fig. 54. The message about the execution of the clearing of the MFT table from the deleted data.

If the user clicks the [NO] button, the program exits. If you select [YES], the program executes zeroing the entire free space of the logical drive.

Zeroing of all free, unoccupied area of the logical disk.

The process of zeroing the currently unused sector space is displayed on the display screen, Fig. 55.

The process of completely clearing the logical disk from the traces of old data that was ever written to the disk and then deleted is completed by issuing the message shown in Fig. 56.

After this operation, the user is guaranteed to be protected from the leakage of confidential data, as by any existing means, including hardware, it is impossible to restore the erased data!
