Menu «Cloning»
When you activate the main window Fomsoft Data Recovery "Cloning" item on the screen appears
the drop-down menu shown in Fig. 45.
Рис. 45. Menu of the main window Cloning.
The drop-down menu of the Cloning main window item consists of three sub-items:
- To set the write permission to the disk.
- To remove permission of writing to the disk.
- Copy a group of sectors to another healthy disk.
To set the write permission to the disk.
To prevent accidental writing to drives carelessly, the disk on which you want to record should be
specially marked. The sector LBA - 62 is used as a mark. To set this mark, you need to activate the menu item
"Cloning" "To set the write permission to the disk", рис 46:
Fig. 46. Subparagraph To set the write permission to the disk.
In most cases, this sector is not used by the operating system and contains a zero value. However, if the sector
not zero, the program gives the corresponding warning, Fig. 46 a:
Fig. 46a. A fatal error is possible.
To remove permission of writing to the disk.
In order to prevent the program Fomsoft Data Recovery write not one or another disk is required to call the submenu
"Remove write permission to disk", Fig. 46b:
Fig. 46b. Sub-paragraph«To remove write permission to the disk».
Copy a group of sectors to another healthy disk.
For ашп. 47 here is an example of specifying the Fomsoft Data Recovery program to copy the sector space of a physical
disk #3 starting from sector 2 to physical disk #1 starting from offset 63.
Fig. 47.«Copy the group of sectors to another healthy drive».
Selecting the "Asymmetric copy" check box allows you to specify the LBA from which the copy will be placed
the group of sectors on the output disk.
The progress of the copying process is shown on the screen, Fig. 47a:
Fig. 47a. «Display the progress of the copy process».
The cloning process ends with a corresponding message, Fig. 47b.

If reading errors occur during the reading of the sector space of the source disk, the program uses the original algorithms,
subtracting read failures of unreadable sectors and loss of availability by the problematic drive.
